Pressing on

We hope that this blog allows for a better connection for those of you who wish to be part of our lives. This will be a place you can come to recieve information and to share your love.

After Janae's biopsy, we learned she has malignant melanoma. After much research and consulting, we feel best about alternative treatment and she is doing well with her program. She has been strong and consistent and says she feels better about it each day. She will be tested again in a few weeks to see how her body is responding to this.

Janae is doing her best to rest and strengthen her immune system. This is vital to her treatment. With all that has happened over the last few weeks, she has been exhausted physically, mentally and mostly, emotionally.

There have been many, many people calling and wanting to talk with her or come and visit her. Being so caught up in shock and emotions at first, we had no time to set boundaries. However, at this time we ask that you send your love and thoughts to her either by email, cards or by leaving comments on this blog. All of these options are wonderful and reliable avenues to show your love and support.

Each day she cherishes the cards and emails she recieves and counts your love for her as a wonderful blessing and a source of comfort and strength. She is grateful for the place each of you have in her heart. We appreciate your continued love and prayers on her behalf and are so thankful for the outpouring of love that each of us in our family have felt at this time!

We are so blessed to have each of you!

Much love, The White Family

Your blog is a great idea to help your many friends stay in touch and keep informed without intruding. People are always asking me how you are doing, so now I can refer them to your blog.

We send our love and prayers your way! I called the temple today, and added Janae's name again. I am sure it is in many temples. You can't have too many prayers, that's for sure!

  10. Janae and Calvin,
Just want you to know that you have been in our thoughts and prayers since the email I received from Brother Stones. I have thought of you often and wondered how you were doing. The blog is a wonderful tool to keep us connected and still give you the privacy and the time to be with your family. Thank you for doing this. We will continue to pray for you and your family.
Kennedy is adorable. Congratulations on another beautiful grandchild.

We appreciate being able to review your progess and are joining others with prayers for a miracle in your life. That is such a beautiful picture of you and Kennedy. I have a new little great-grandson who was born in Texas on July 23. Who knows? Maybe some day he and Kennedy will be friends.

  12. Janae and Family,
You never quit amazing me!! You are one of the most amazing woman I know. I am so glad Stacia made a blog for you.Kennedy is so cute, and that was a great picture of you and Cal. I am especially glad you can walk each of us through this time. I was told that your primary source was in your bowel. Its so good to hear what is really going on. I thought melanoma was skin cancer, apparently not. Mostly Dan and I just want to tell you how much we love you and Cal. We love all of your family. Our thoughts and prayers are always with you. I to put your name in at three of the temples and the lady at the temple lived here in Wenatchee and said he kids grew up with the Whites and that she was very good friends with your Aunt(Janaes Aunt). Small world! Also that was the Seattle temple. The kids send their love. They call and ask constantly about you.

    Love,
    Dan and Marlene

  13. Janae,
As one who is on the miracle journey with you... hold on girl and fight! I have two simple sayings that have helped me so much these past fourteen years: "Attitude determines Altitude" and "Don't ask why - ask how? You are so right, it is not the doctors that determine how long we live... only one, our Heavenly Father, determines when we come home to him. I admire you so much and please know I love you and pray each day for you, Calvin, and your beautiful family. When you are fully well, I still plan on coming over and sitting in your beautiful living room and basking in the wonder of your music. I loved reading your comments this morning. You are so right you will draw closer to God during this trial than you can ever imagine. Wondrous spiritual experiences will be yours to hold in your heart forever.

  15. Thank you for this blog! Wonderful...
You & your family are constantly in our thoughts and prayers. Our 4 missionaries have asked about you & want you to know they are praying for you all. When they emailed me, I thought how missionary prayers are some of the most powerful. They are full of faith.
We are so grateful for your AMAZING attitude and spirit. You are teaching all of us how to live life - with or without cancer.
The pictures are so great - especially the one with you & little Kennedy. What tender mercies the Lord always gives. Families are just everything. Thank you for having such a great family for us to be blessed to know & learn from.
Much love to you all! The Birds

  16. Dear Janae & Family,

I have often wondered about some of these modern methods of communication and there relative effectiveness. Frankly, I have enough trouble putting two words together without tripping on my tongue. Trust me this hurts even more than putting one's foot in one's mouth, but it does taste better! Today, I learned that a blog can touch your heart and it can lift your spirits.

Since your diagnosis I and my family have earnestly and fervently prayed for your healing to our Lord. Your comments on this blog make it clear to me that our loving God is working a miracle in your life (and ours) and as usual is using His "mysterious ways" to accomplish the feat. Your choice of treatment is a defiant sign of your strength and speaks to your fiery independence of spirit.

You have been and are an inspiration (present tense) to us. I very vividly recall speaking with you on the phone a few years back when I was going through some career-related trauma. You called me to offer your support and love and I can never forget that. It meant so much to me at the time and showed me the depth of your character and you loving heart.

I do not have much in the way of conventional assistance to offer you, but I offer you all that I have. I offer you my loving heart and that of my family to strengthen and bind to your own. Know that our combined strength is yours to use today and always.

Our best wishes come at no cost and with no expectation other than you will use them to power you through the difficult days that lie ahead. Let our prayers and positive thoughts be with you as silent and caring angels (the fat, balding one is me).

Well you must be tired, if you weren't tired before you started reading this you are surely exhausted now!

Our love is not reserved just for you Janae (don't hog it all for yourself), we want to share it with Calvin, Bergen, Jared, Colton, Monique, Stacia, Judson, and your entire family. This journey you are on is not just your own, but includes those mentioned above and a few us free-loaders in the back of the bus. We will go along with you as far as this road leads and farther if needed.

God bless you and keep you.

To all of you, our love,
    The Piccirillos

  20. Dearest Janae,

How much you are loved. I've never told you this, but you have been a hero to me in my life. Your compassion and love, talent and grace have touched the lives of those of us who have brushed up against you, even for a moment. Your strength inspires me, your heart touches mine, and I want you to know my prayers rise heavenward continuously and non-ceasing for you and your family.

    We love you!

  21. Dear Janae and Calvin,

Yesterday I was involved in reorganizing some positions in our Stake and had occasion to speak with Josh Dahmer. I noticed from the membership records he was from Wenatchee and asked if he knew the two of you. He and his wife were excited to say they did and we talked about the two of you and they brought me up to date with your situation. I wasn't aware of the seriousness until I read your blog. I wish I had something supremely profound to say that would carry you through the day. What I can say is that I've known you for many years, mostly the younger ones, and I look forward to whatever outcome may be with confidence. The two of you are wonderful people and have nothing to fear going forward. I'm certain of your standing before God and while life frequently throws many challenges our way, they are only brief and eventually the outcome will always, always be positive. Your beautiful family is a testament to your goodness and will forever bear a sure witness of the lives you have led. God bless you and your family as you press forward in faith. My thoughts and prayers will be with you always.
