Good afternoon everyone, this is Janae. I am pretty slow with my typing and I want you to know it's not because I can't spell. It's because I don't want to turn back and correct all my mistakes.

Yes, Once again I know that I have not been awhile. Hang in there with your faith and prayers. Some days are good, and some not so good where I spend much time at the doctor for something....but overall I am well. I did go to Seattle my last visit and my doctor, Rockhill, told me that 4-5 tumors looked like they were getting smaller. The other 4 had not changed and there was no new ones. I have been very sick the month of November and December, throwing up. He changed my medicine and I have been doing better.

Calvin , my real doctor, took me off my steroids and I think I actually feel better but that causes other problems too. The Olympics are killing my nightly routine. Stacia got married and Jared is a week away.

I want to leave with a scripture from the Book of Mormon:

They shall come to the knowledge of their redeemer and the very points of his doctrine, that they may know to come unto him and be saved. 1 Nephi 15:14

  1. Hello Janae!

It is great to hear from you. Sorry your tummy has been giving you problems. Fantastic news about the tumors getting smaller and no new ones. What a blessing. Stacia looked radiant at her reception. She is beautiful just like her mother. I couldn't tell who looked happier there, Stacia or Jared. He looked pretty excited probably just waiting for his time coming up next. I have always thought alot of Jared. I taught him with Jon in Sunday School years ago and he was always awesome to teach. Never a problem and always a joy to see. You have done very well mom and dad. Good to hear from you. We don't care if you correct mistakes; we all make them too, we just want to hear from you when you feel like it.

  3. Is it really April already?? Absolutely gorgeous here in Seattle and I really love the Temple grounds, it's heavan and your family are always on my mind when I'm there. Just wanted to say I miss your blogs and hope to hear from you soon. Since your last blog I wrote two poems and would love to share them with you, hope you don't mind? I wrote one sitting out on the pier downtown that preluded a conversation with a homeless man as we shared our understanding of the scriptures. He expressed kindness even though his life was a full of hardship. I think we can delight in hardship as long as we have family and the Gospel of Jesus Christ close at hand.

    God’s Safe Harbor

The Lighted pier refracts the sea
To join the fluid ripple waves
And tactfully layer color beams aglow
Like silhouettes of bright bodies in a darkened cave

Watery glass fragments of electric windows
Open spiritual eyes till a thirst is quenched
Like young babes born through all generations
The endless layer of God’s knowledge is out-stretched

How to begin this journey so palpable
Tiny bites to taste and then feast upon unrelenting
The fruit of the tree of life is given eternal
God gifted of precept with His Son abiding

May we arrive at the pier, the Lights of safe harbor
Gods Family of Man to partake as bestowed
The Truth and Breathe from which we’re created
Beckons us to the Savior’s vessel of His Love, Mercy and Hope

    PIANO FINGERS

    Those chubby appendages reaching out
To ivory’s and ebony’s magic prose
A memory of harmonies rush tiny earlobes
    Frolicking happily as toddler notes

The sound on one key finger playing
Evokes the sense of valued treasure found
Satisfaction grins as keys press repeated
Earthly realms transform in partner with sounds

So heaven happens when the marvels of music
Are first devised by a young child’s hands
And forever after the music book opens
“Hope Songs” are played of the Masters plan

  4. Janae & Calvin,

Having been gone for almost 2 months, I pulled up your post and caught up on you today. It's great to see you doing so well and again confirms to me that we are blessed when we do all that we can to help ourselves. You are great examples to me. Thanks for making the effort to post thus allowing us to share in your faith.

Even though Roxanna is in Colorado caring for her aged mother, she almost always asks about you when we talk on the phone. She told me to tell you that you are in her prayers. (And she prays a lot!)

    Love, David Halls
